Free Lecture by Phil Jurus | Emil Milan: Midcentury Master

  • Pike County Public Library, Milford, PA 119 E Harford St Milford, PA 18337 USA (map)

Emil Milan—an influential American artist who helped shape the studio craft movement in the U.S. after WWII—taught at Peters Valley Craft Center (now Peters Valley School of Craft) in Layton, NJ, from its inaugural year, 1971 through 1984. Come and learn more about the life and work of this nearly forgotten artist.

Phil Jurus is an artist, a member of the Emil Milan Research Team, and was a friend and mentee of Emil Milan while he lived and worked in Thompson, PA. Phil has spent the last decade working on the Emil Milan Research Project with fellow team members. The team has uncovered amazing stories, works of art, and more related to the life and work of Emil Milan.

This will be the third lecture in a new series of free public lectures that Peters Valley School of Craft will be mounting at the Pike County Public Library over the next 12 months, thanks to the generosity of The Greater Pike Community Foundation/Richard L. Snyder Fund.

The lecture is free but you can register for it on Eventbrite.
